The impressive design of this stadium was inspired by the sails of traditional Qatari boats, celebrating Al Wakrah's long history as a center for fishing and pearling. For centuries, these beautiful boats sailed across the waters of the Gulf and beyond, and returned laden with the bounty of the sea.
After the tournament, Al Janoub Stadium will be reduced in capacity and seats will be donated to other sporting projects around the world. Al Wakrah Sports Club fans will also have the opportunity to live a very exciting atmosphere during the matches of their favorite club in the stadium. In addition to football, the stadium is surrounded by magnificent gardens featuring sporting and recreational facilities that the community will benefit from for years to come.
